Handpainted plates illustrations

This design is a celebration of artistic process and craftsmanship, created for a large ceramic decorative plate and reproduced through high-quality silkscreen printing.
Inspired by the enigmatic beauty of Finnish nature in the darkness, where only silhouettes come to life, the artwork subtly references local flora and fauna without being overly literal, offering a refined, abstract interpretation.

The process began with a collection of reference images captured personally, followed by detailed sketches of the subjects. These were then hand-painted on thick watercolour paper using vibrant watercolour inks to achieve a striking graphic effect. The artwork was subsequently refined and post-produced digitally, preparing it for seamless production.

Commissioned by a leading interior design manufacturer, this project exemplifies the synergy between traditional techniques and modern technology, resulting in a timeless and visually compelling piece for contemporary interiors.
