Sauna Stove concept

​Given a broad and open-ended brief by the client, a global leader in wellness products, I decided to push the boundaries of traditional sauna stove design by focusing on infusing a sense of lightness into what is typically a heavy and utilitarian appliance. Normally, a sauna stove comprises three components: the electric heating element, the outer shell, and the stones. This combination usually results in a bulky and robust form with a basic design.
To break away from this convention, I reimagined the stove by wrapping the stones in a metal grid that resembles the delicate texture of tulle fabric, creating the illusion of them being suspended in a cloud. The rising steam further enhances this "cloud-like" effect, contributing to an airy and ethereal atmosphere. This visual connection to nature not only adds to the stove's aesthetic appeal but also acts as a natural relaxant. The stove, when placed inside the sauna, transforms the space into an elevated, calming environment, perfect for relaxation and meditation. The client decided not to move forward with the concept due to consumer trends and practical considerations.
